Danielle T. – So Trend how did you get into producing?
Trend – Back in ’04-’05, D-Nyce & I used to rap just as a hobby. He would make the beats & I’d assist w/ the lay-outs. He insisted I started making beats because of my discernment in music. I got a load of sounds & began producing from there on out.
DT – How hard or easy is it to stand out from a lot of the producers that are out today?
T – It’s not complicated, but it’s competitive. The industry is a competitive business & a fresh sound is always the thing that stands out. I just use it as motivation to bring MORE creativity to my work.
DT – Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? What’s on your bucket list?
T – 5 years from now, I want to have an ESTABLISHED name in the industry. As far as my “Bucket List”, I just want to secure my kids future. That’ll satisfy me to the utmost.
DT – “Function” is a really big song right now, so where were you the first time you heard “Function” on the radio and what was your reaction?
T – First time I heard it, I was driving home from work. It shocked me knowing people are rocking with our sound of music. I cracked a smile, then starting nodding to it like EVERYONE else.
DT – Artist-wise, who would you like to work with in the near future?
T – Clipse, Pharrell, R. Kelly, Jay-Z, Diddy, Eminem, Kanye West, Nas, Ab-Soul, Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss, Bun B, Drake, DJ Quik, T.I., Rick Ross, Lil Wayne & ANY members of the Wu-Tang.
DT – What would you say inspires you?
T – All of my inspiration comes from my friends, family, & the success of others out there, around my age group, doing the same thing. “You can do it too.” Pharrell never lied.
DT – Are you currently working on any new music right now that we can look forward to, any new artists?
T – Yes. Look forward to more music with E-40, Too $hort, Snoop Dogg, Problem, Bad Lucc, Skeme, Tyga, Beanie Sigel & Glasses Malone.
DT – Random: If you knew the world was going to end in 24 hours, what would you do within your last 24 hours, honestly?
T – Last 24 hours would go to family, friends & the studio. Leave memories of my last day with them & my last pieces of music to share with the world.
