Thank you to J. Edwards of PaperMatez for bringing our little happy face with a brick in it’s face to life LOL! This came out so dope! We’ve been doing BrickToYaFace since April only and it has gotten bigger then what I could imagine in such a short amount of time. All we wanted to do was show case new & up and coming artist that wouldn’t get love from the bigger blog sites because they weren’t known yet. When Noa dropped his In Blanka Mode in March and we were trying to get it on blog sites but no one really showed him love, that’s when BrickToYaFace came to me. I know BrickToYaFace doesn’t sound so pleasant but it’s easy to remember and it makes you want to know what it’s all about. We just want to bring to peoples attention those artist that have good music and work hard and are still coming up, just because they don’t have a buzz yet doesn’t mean you can’t put them on, they have good quality music so you should want to share it with the people you know. I’mma be real a lot of these bigger blogs hype up a lot of wack artist, why? Noa and I are the only ones that run BrickToYaFace, we listen to music that is sent to us and we put it up if its good music, we don’t get caught up in what’s new or what’s in; we’re all about good quality artist that are grinding for themselves and that is what BrickToYaFace and even the Common Ground is all about. If you have ever wondered what BrickToYaFace means today you will find out LOL. The phrase “Getting hit with a ton of bricks” refers to someone being surprised or shocked by something, with BrickToYaFace, the new artist you haven’t heard from before is that Brick; you don’t know who this person is but you decided to give their music a chance and you end up enjoying what they do. We always find greatness where it’s not expected. When posting up this Papermate I didn’t know I was going to tell you about the birth of BrickToYaFace but it amazes us (Noa and I) both how fast BrickToYaFace has grown to become what it is. I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, everyone that supports us and has been with us from the beginning, but truly thank you is not enough, to express how I feel.
