In March 2014, Southern California artist, Faimkills, went on a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to find clarity after a bout of severe anxiety and depression. While there, he was compelled to begin documenting bits of his stay on his iPhone.
In January 2015, while cleaning his computer out as a sort of New Year ritual, he found the footage and decided to stitch it together with lyrics from four songs from his latest album, Thrashed Out.
These visuals developed into a loose narrative, seen through the eyes of an isolated traveler in a strange city, who has a strong desire to connect to what s/he observes, be it nature, culture, people, and ultimately, God.
The songs included are “Lo-Fi Everything,” “Freak, Freak (ft. Stevie Crooks),” “L’objet petit a,” and “Cross,”which are all included on the album Thrashed Out.
